Sign Agency Agreement
Complete your contract via Adobe Acrobat. This officially brings you into the Stars Talent family and allows us to submit you for roles.

Stage Name Setup
If you plan to use a stage name instead of your legal name, we'll guide you through the DBA (Doing Business As) process.Click here

Step 2: Activate Your Digital Presence
Agency App Setup
  1. Download Podio app at podio.com/login. Go to your app store and find it there as well.
  1. Also, download the new Syngency app here. Then fill out this form here. The info from this form will populate in Syngency. (we are moving to this new app. You'll have two apps to manage for the time being. This is only short term. Long term it will be only Syngency)
  1. You should have also received a link from us for Casting Networks. If you don't see this in your inbox let us know. (This is what the L.A/NY market use)
  1. Follow activation instructions provided
  1. Upload your division-specific demo reels
  1. Format your resume using our template (You'll do this for Podio only. Syngency has a resume section that you'll fill out)

Each of our 14 divisions requires different demo reel styles. We'll tell you which divisions you're signed to during your launch call!

Each division you're signed for requires specific branding and photo styles. Here's what casting directors are looking for:

Make sure you have the correct photos for each division you're signed to! This is crucial for getting submitted to the right roles.
Demo Reel Excellence
Why Demo Reels Matter
Casting directors require high-quality demo reels to consider talent for roles. Your reel is often the first impression you make, and it needs to be really good.
US Talent Academy can help you create up to 50 different types of demo reels! Each division requires specific styles:
  • TV & Film Reels (3-4 clips showing emotional range)
  • Comedy Reels (timing and various comedic styles)
  • Commercial Reels (lifestyle and brand-friendly content)
  • Voice Over Demos (14 different VO types available)
Self-Taping Mastery
Professional self-taping skills are essential in today's industry. Follow these agency-approved guidelines to ensure your auditions stand out:
Setup & Framing
Film horizontally, frame from mid-chest to just above your head. Use solid colored backgrounds - gray preferred for TV/film, blue for commercials.
Lighting & Sound
Use ring light or box lighting for clarity. Good lighting can be the difference between booking the job or not! Consider lavalier mics for clear audio.
File Submission
Submit as MP4 files. For short scenes, provide 2-3 different takes (subtle, natural, comedic). Use Google Drive or something similar for large files.
Slating Like a Pro
"Hi, my name is Tracy Anderson with Stars Talent Studio, I'm 5'8", from Salt Lake City, Utah, and I'm willing to be a Utah local hire."
Always follow specific Casting Director slating instructions, but when none are provided, use our standard format. Show your real, warm personality during your slate - this is your first impression!
Pro tip: Use the BIGVU app for teleprompter functionality on commercial scripts. This saves hours of memorization time and helps you nail auditions quickly!
