REQUIRED Demo ReelS
Why Demo Reels Matter
REELS ARE REQUIRED FOR EACH DIVISION
For every division you are assigned to, a high-quality demo reel is required. Casting Directors rely heavily on reels when deciding who to consider for roles—often before requesting auditions or sides. Your reel is frequently the first impression, and it must be strong, current, and professionally produced.
U.S. Talent Academy can help you create up to 50 different types of demo reels, each tailored to the specific divisions you are submitted for. Visit their website at www.ustalentacademy.com or call 801-688-3773.

This reel should be 1- 2 minutes and ideal contact is from past bookings or developed in your commercial workshop the following script types:

  • Commercial
  • Corporate
  • Animation
  • Video Games
  • IVR / Phone Systems

  • 1 Minute Cycling Reel
  • 1 Minute Rowing Reel
  • 1 Minute Strength Training Reel
  • I Minute Elliptical Reel
  • 1 Minute Yoga/Pilates/Fitness Instructor/or Whatever Sport You can Do Type Reel
Strong fitness reels allow brands to book talent directly, often without auditions.
Singers & Bands
Singers and bands are required to have a performance demo reel to be considered for bookings. To create this reel, contact Liahone Olayan from American Idol at 801-380-9715:
  • Create a MP4 Music Video
  • Musical style and genre
  • Stage presence and performance energy
  • Band chemistry and live performance capability
Reels may include live performances, studio recordings with performance footage, or professionally filmed sessions. Casting directors, event producers, and music supervisors rely on these reels to assess talent quickly for concerts, live events, tours, festivals, and brand partnerships.
A strong music reel leads directly to paid performances, bookings, and long-term opportunities.
Spokesmodels & TV Hosts
Spokesmodels and TV hosts are required to have a Host Reel. This reel should showcase:
  • Display your teleprompter abilities that you can be clear, confident and have a solid on-camera delivery
  • Strong communication and interview skills
  • Ability to speak naturally to camera or live audiences
  • Professional presence, warmth, and authority
Host reels may include teleprompter reads, product presentations, live hosting clips, interviews, or event coverage. Casting directors and brands rely on host reels to book talent for TV shows, live events, corporate hosting, product launches, and spokesperson roles.
Sports & Specialty Reels
Sports and specialty performers must create a specialty skills reel that clearly shows their abilities on camera. These reels should demonstrate:
  • The specific sport or skill
  • Athletic control, safety, and proficiency
  • Ability to perform consistently on camera

  • Horseback riding
  • Weapons handling / shooting
  • Rock climbing
  • Dancing (all styles)
  • Martial arts
  • Gymnastics
  • Skateboarding
  • Cycling
  • Parkour
Casting directors book specialty talent based on proof of skill. If you list a skill, it must be shown clearly on video.
REAL FAMILIES
Real families are required to create a family demo reel. This reel should include:
  • A family slate (each member introducing themselves)
  • Casual, natural conversation on camera
  • Talking together about where your family loves to vacation, why you enjoy it, and what you like to do there
  • Warm, authentic interaction that shows real chemistry
Casting directors book real families based on connection, relatability, and authenticity, not acting performance.
Pets Division
Our Pets Division requires a 2 minute pet demo reel showcasing your pet’s:
  • Tricks and trained behaviors
  • Unique abilities or skills
  • Personality, temperament, and responsiveness
Casting directors book pet talent based on trainability, behavior on camera, personality, or sometimes just off their look! A clear, well-shot reel helps demonstrate that your pet can perform reliably in a professional production environment.
Self-Taping Mastery
Professional self-taping skills are essential in today's industry. Follow these agency-approved guidelines to ensure your auditions stand out:
Setup & Framing
Film horizontally, frame from mid-chest to just above your head. Use solid colored backgrounds - gray preferred for TV/film, blue for commercials.
Lighting & Sound
Use ring light or box lighting for clarity. Good lighting can be the difference between booking the job or not! Consider lavalier mics for clear audio.
File Submission
Submit as MP4 files. For short scenes, provide 2-3 different takes (subtle, natural, comedic). Use Google Drive or something similar for large files.
Slating Like a Pro
"Hi, my name is Tracy Anderson with Stars Talent Studio, I'm 5'8", from Salt Lake City, Utah, and I'm willing to be a Utah local hire."
Always follow specific Casting Director slating instructions, but when none are provided, use our standard format. Show your real, warm personality during your slate - this is your first impression!
Pro tip: Use the BIGVU app for teleprompter functionality on commercial scripts. This saves hours of memorization time and helps you nail auditions quickly!

Success Stories
Since millions of dollars in bookings flow through the agency, taking direction from our Development Team and New Faces Division is key to understanding the tools, referrals, and insider strategies that lead to real success.
Our team has spent years building relationships with casting directors, producers, and global brands—and we know exactly what they are booking right now. When talent follows our guidance, they position themselves to compete at the highest level.
Not every person on our roster is booked at the same rate—and that is by design. Rates vary based on a combination of experience, training, professional marketing, branding, and overall image and sound.
Talent who have invested in high-level training, developed strong demo reels, maintained professional headshots, and built a clear personal brand are positioned for higher-paying bookings and more competitive opportunities. These elements directly affect how casting directors, producers, and brands perceive and value a performer.
Our trained talent has booked with major brands and productions worldwide, and those successes are the result of preparation, consistency, and professional presentation. As talent grows, refines their materials, and gains experience, their market value—and rates—naturally increase.
This approach ensures that every booking is aligned with the talent’s current level while creating a clear pathway for growth into higher-paying roles.
Here’s just a glimpse of where your career can take you:
  • National and global commercial campaigns paying thousands per day
  • Recurring roles on major TV series that create household names
  • Feature films and streaming projects with worldwide audiences
  • Spokesmodel and hosting roles for global brands
  • Magazine covers, editorial spreads, and catalog campaigns
  • Voice-over work heard internationally
  • Live events, touring, and brand activations across the globe
This industry rewards preparation, alignment, and trust in the process. If needed set up a follow up meeting with your Development Team and New Faces Division, you’re not just getting advice—you’re gaining access to a proven roadmap used by talent who are actively booking and building lasting careers.

Your Booking Team is in place to help you book incredible opportunities and build a sustainable career in the entertainment industry that can last your lifetime.
1. Complete onboarding Steps
Set up your Syngency Agency App
2. Schedule Your Photoshoot
Book with one of our approved photographers and ask for the 20-Look Book Guide so you’re branded correctly. Each division you’re signed to needs its own iconic image—not one photo trying to do every job (because it can’t).
Approved photographers know exactly what casting directors look for, and we make sure your images are placed in the right divisions, with the right look, so you can actually get booked.
Because great photos don’t just look good—they make money.
Make Your Launch Call
Get final approval and start auditioning.
Now that you’ve completed your launch call, you’re expected to check the agency app daily for any private casting requests you’ve been selected to receive. These requests often have fast deadlines, and missing them can mean missing the opportunity.
For direct bookings, our team will also text and call you, but your casting requests live inside the app—so daily check-ins are required.
Home Studio Requirement (So You’re Always Ready)
Please make sure your self-tape setup is ready at all times:
  • Good ring light or soft box lighting (good, even lighting)
  • Gray or Black screen for most film/TV/commercial auditions (cinematic, neutral tone)
  • *Blue or Green screen for commercial reels if you're switching out the background (clean, brand-friendly look). I.e: If its a kitchen product edit in a kitchen background. Better yet, be on location filming in a nice kitchen with great lighting is even better. Look like you've actually done the commercial, Film, TV…
check app daily!
Check your app every day to see what you’ve been selected for and respond promptly.
Your success is our success!
